Now this, if it's true, is the sort of radical thinking that got most of us hooked on F1. Good on you lads at McLaren, nice to know you can still show an edge to all the others. Good

Germany's Auto Motor und Sport has brought attention to yet another unique innovation on the Mercedes-powered car, to be raced this weekend by Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.

Photos taken at the Barcelona test depict a small air inlet on the left-hand side of the upper monocoque, in front of the drivers' helmets.

The magazine speculates that Button and Hamilton may operate the intake, allowing or disallowing air to travel through the car and exit at the rear, by hitting a trigger with their left knees.

Good to see the McLaren guys trying to be innovative. Here's hoping that we won't hear more complaints from RB about this one!

I think I've located it on the car from the pictures taken at the test.  Looks a funny little funnel thing.  Great though to see innovation an creativity is still alive!

Sounds interesting, but I hope they don't hit the trigger every time they hit a bump or turn right.
